Plebs follows three desperate young men from the suburbs...。罗大虎为给母亲治病，夜入王家帐房偷盗，被帐房周子廉发现。大虎被捕入狱，母亲病故，妹妹小玉被卖到王家为婢。小玉备受欺凌，幸得少主仲明宠爱，二人秘密订婚。大虎出狱与小玉相见，小玉劝其别再偷盗，大虎依从，相继找了好些工作，却都因为自己的前科而被解雇。大虎一怒之下沦为盗匪，后被侦探抓住。王家仆人尤二听得二人对话，乘机要挟小玉示遂，便将事情告诉王母。王母将小玉赶出家门。仲明找回小玉，小玉却吐血而死。。
